Can you help with identification of this wee little critter we found at 65' on the Bloody Bay Wall in Little Cayman. It's about 1.5 inches wide, appears to have no central mouth and the small, round shapes in the middle appear to be integrated and part of a single organism. Anemone? Coral? Hydroid? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks...

No idea but a very cool critter. My guess is the globes are either parasites or egg masses prior to spawning.

Looks to be a Warty Corallimorph, Discosoma sanctithomae. They can be solitary or found in groups or clusters. Know of several spots On Grand Cayman where they have been for years.

I heard back from someone at the Central Caribbean Marine Institute who confirmed that it is a type of corallimorph. Mystery solved. Thanks for your replies.
