Hello OCal - I want to do a night dive Monday 4/17

I have a meeting in San Diego on Monday 4/17 that is going to run from 1:00 - 3:00 PM-ish. After the meeting, if I futz around Low Cal for a bit, fight the traffic through North County, get dinner on the way, I can be in OCal for a night dive.

This will likely be my only oCal dive of 2006.

Robert? You 'round? Anyone, anyone?

I'll bring a buddy light (18w HID)... :10: ...and maybe some cookies.

OK, Bunny Boy!

I'll give it a definite maybe. I should be working the Opera and I think Monday is dark. I need to see a schedule before I can commit. I have never done a shore dive in Orange County so I would be an awful tour guide. The dry suit should be in San Diego getting Zips and a second pocket, so if I can make it I'll be in the wet suit.

Hi Ken,

Let me know what time, and I will join you. Where would you like to dive? The BEST night dives in OC (IMO) would be Wood's Cove (for the experienced...due to that it's tricky sometimes to navigate), Shaw's Cove or Deadman's for the novice, Deadman's for those that are good on air consumption.

Maybe for the vaired marine life, I would rec Shaw's. Will you be bringing your camera? Wonder if it would fit through the 'swim through' into the channel???

Anyway, PM me and let me know what your thoughts are.

OK, I can do it! But like I said in my earlier post I would make an awful tour guide. Since I have absolutely ZERO experience doing shore dives here in Orange County, somebody else needs to pick a time and place. Just post it and I'm there. Plenty of experinece in deep and dark places, but not a lot of shore dives with surf entries.

For me it will be a single cylinder, wetsuit kind of thing.

Not too up on the geography. Is that near Shaws?

Its like 3 blocks "north" of Shaw, yes.
