Hello all, I was certified in 2014 but didn't do anything with it. Recently went to Hawaii and had so much fun that I decided to get a refresher/dry suit and so on... that said...here's a turtle butt I saw while snorkeling in Kona.

Yes, lots of it. Logistics can be a bit of challenge unless you have a boat. When I moved up here 22 years ago everybody in California was telling me "there is no diving in Alaska." They were misinformed.Welcome! Any good diving around Alaska?
I can't wait for winter to do cold water diving. Last weekend in Smitty's Cove the visibility was only 10' but got to see some Sunstar's. Cool looking starfish.Yes, lots of it. Lots of diving in whittier during the winter. Once the plankton dies off in the fall visiibility generally gets much better. One of the few places in the world that you can make a night dive at 9 in the morning in DecemberI can't wait for winter to do cold water diving.
