Can anyone tell me how to resize this picture of me to fit my profile.
To keep this dive related,I'm gonna try to set-up a fw dive in the mine where I work to go down and take a look at an old dredge that sank about 15 or 18 years ago. If I can make it happen I'd like to have some company. She sits in about 40 feet. The vis should be good cause the waters real clear topside.
Should be lots of fish. I hope to try it in June.

The problem wasn't the physical size of the picture, it was the size of the file. For some reason the power's that be have decided a profile picture can't be any larger than 97.7kb, yours was 146kb. (Odd number, why couldn't it be 100k?)

I popped it into Photoshop and did a Save for Web, tweaked the size slider to about 83k. You shouldn't notice any visible difference.

Any photo editing program that has an image resize option could be used to do something similar. The trick is to just tweak it enough to get the size down w/o compromising the quality.

sjspeck- Thanks man, now I gotta figure out how to save the darn thing.

Grab a copy of the gimp:

http://gimp-win.sourceforge.net/

resize it in this, and save it as a jpeg. When you do that you'll get a chance to change the quality, the lower the better for avatars.

edit: lol read the thread, I'm too sunburned to think.

I hope to know something in a week or two. Soon as I find out, I'll let you know.

Where is the mine at? I'm interested, but I can only do weekend dives.

Firebrand,
It's near a town named Davenport. Maybe half hour from Orlando.
