Seems you have been lurking quite a bit.

Just wanted to take a sec and wish you a very happy birthday.

Here's hoping you have a great day :drunks:

Thanks! I hadn't logged in for some time... Lots of changes! What's this "friends" thing? Are we turning into Facebook? :) It's odd - I wouldn't have logged in if I wasn't (just now) telling a friend who is getting back in after a 10 year absence that he should join up at SB and watch the Tampa thread because they're really good folks. I login to get the link and low and behold here's this thread. Wonderful! Thanks again!

Medical issues are keeping me out of the water right now (I can't carry/lift a tank), but I hope to be able to join you guys again by mid to late September... If Allen Maroney shows up here, give him hearty welcome....

Happy b-day and speedy recovery.

Hey you. Personally I call the "friends list" what used to be the "buddy list". It essentially the same in that you can look at the forum and notice your buds as the are marked with a plus symbol.

And I had noticed you had been away.... Anything we can do to help u dive? Float your tank and bcd out? I'm happy to do that.

We have a gathering that I think is going to be pretty big. It is the 19th at the PressBox - please try and show up. U promise to show and Allen gets the "welcome" he never dreamed of. :eyebrow: Otherwise - well....:wink1:

AstroDad will be hauled out and dunked soon. I'll just tell him that we're doing lunar observing from -60 feet to get the best of both worlds. Thanks for the, er, welcome, Missdirected.

All I need now is to find a boat that actually goes out on Sunday (two boats cancelled in the last 24 hours).

Allen

:D Oh my, a dive to Clavius or the Appenines? Yea, that's enough to get me in trouble with the wife and doctors for sure....

Folks, Allen is one of a few that I consider to be a bigger nerd/geek than myself. For example, I'll bet no one here has ever done this to a scuba tank: Film Hypering Tank

Night Vision, you ought to start a thread on that thing. I think many would like to check that out.

Gas hypersentizing is used for long exposure photography with film, often over an hour per frame. You don't see too many hour long UW photos on film these days. Even AstroDad doesn't use film any longer.

The next set of my tanks that are too old to hydro are being cut up for telescope trunnions (side bearings) by a non-diver friend. When some photos are available I'll start a thread on those.

To stay somewhat on topic... Happy belated birthday AstroDad! :clapping:
