Today the inflator did not want to stop to inflate my wing while I was at -30 mtrs...

Tomorrow I will buy a plastic one and I will stop thinking about it failing while underwater...

Just to have fun I opened it and it was rusty, I would love to Do It Right but this inflator doen't help at all, joking... ;)

It's a piece of rubbish, simple and plain...

Ciao Erik Il Rosso

It's been discontinued. New Halcyon products no longer come with them. Mine has begun to fail after less than 25 dives over a 6 month span. Only 2 of those dives were in saltwater, and I soak my gear overnight in clean fresh water after ALL dives.

Live and learn.

Hmm maybe I'm one of the lucky ones! I hope it doesn't fail anytime soon. Perhaps I'll take it apart later today.

Mine just failed again. Twice in about 60 dives and I soak the inflator in fresh water overnight after it stuck open the first time.

Apparently plastic inflators are 6 weeks backordered from Halcyon (but the new-new stainless ones were of course never supposed to fail ... yeah....).

I'm probably going to try an OMS one next week :) I'd say for a company that's supposed to be 'doing it right' they sure aren't when it comes to inflators.

Get ScubaPro infloator. It is better than any infllators from Halcyon....

Dive Rite inflators don't look nearly as cool, but (from my tech LDS's experience) they're serving their owners very well.

I rememebr when I first saw the "H" SS inflators - they looked so cool, I just hated thinking I was gonna have to shell out the $$$ to get one.

Glad I didn't. :thumb:

wasn`t this problem fixed?I thought it was just the stainless steel button one that had the problem 2 years ago??

Fixed, refixed, then the SS was given up on last I heard. The newest of Halcyon inflators shoudln't be troublesome.

THis may be the new inflator - I saw it on Halcyon's site, on ONE picture a few mintues ago, but can't find it again:

note the red plastic buttons.

I'm sure they'll be marketted as "high vis" in order to differentiate 'em from the Dive Rite ones.

No red button. I also got the new evolve wing, it comes with the plastic one from this year.

Log-splittter, I think yours is a stealth version, so it is supposed to be gray/black.... LOL~~~

Halcyon has three inflators;

Plastic, SS and nickel-plated one.

SS and nickel-plated one: self seviceable with the wrench and driver.
Plastic one: self serviceable with the special tool.
