Anyone have any experience or reviews on the Halcyon Evolve system with the 60lb wing??? I found some good feedback on this wing on the web, but also some bad feedback. I'm looking at possibly picking up this BP/W combo... so anyone that could offer any advice or info on it, I would really appreciate it.

I'm diving with double 119's, and I'm a pretty big guy... 6'2" and about 245 lbs, and usually dive with a drysuit in cold water.

I have 4 other wings. I got the Evolve 60 a couple of months ago. I've not used any other wing since I got the Evolve. I dive with no weight belt, and the Evolve shape is ideal for that use. Best wing (for me) I've ever seen or used. If you use a weightbelt, you might be happier with something shaped a bit differently.

I am using an exact set up you are planning, Evolve 60lb with 119s and 130s.

I don't have any issue. There are two big preference between a horseshoe and donut shape wings. It is just personal preference and famility.

I have used the Explorer wings, but I replaced all with the Evolves. The 40lb is good for AL80s, too.

I won't be using a weight belt, but I will probably use a couple of small trim weight pockets on the waist belt of the harness, or maybe use a V-weight on the BP.

One of the concerns I have is that I've been told that the doughnut shape of the wing can have a tendency to trap too much air at the butt area and mess up trim.

Thanks for the feedback, Hoosier!

I have the same system with 130's and lp 95's. I am 6' and 225 and love the setup. I don't need any extra weight for this rig. Tried it in warm water with double Al 80's and a 3mm. Didn't need any weight there either. Pretty slick setup. I really like the quality of the Halcyon products. I have had other wings and this one is my favorite.

I use a DSS tailweight with my AL80s. Stick 4" in there to keep the butt of the double 80s glued down. But no other weight. I'll probably end up with a v-weight when I go dry.

The doughnut shape doesn't trap air at the butt. It's fine. I have another donut doubles wing, and a horseshoe wing. And they all dive fine. But I like the Evolve 60 the best. It does wrap on my Al80s, but not nearly as much as my horseshoe wing does.

I think you'll love it for those 119s.
