I am not intent upon "hijacking" this thread. But I must admit that I am interested in divers and people in general taking care of their health...I guess that's why I am a nurse. I dove in California last year and was shocked to see all the clinically obese divers. I thought that was something peculiar to Minnesota and our long, cold, high fat content diet winters. So, I guess every chance I get I harp about health and put that ahead of the agenda regardless of the topic-sorry if I implied that you too, James Goddard, were fat. I have NEVER seen a fat triathlete.
I have been diving for 26 years and living in Minnesota know a little about "thermal protection". And I did mention that I too have gained a little flab abound the belly AND I went on to mention that I find it harder to submerge with my increased waist line. But I don't consider everyone who needs more ballast to be overweight. It's just that people don't consider changing their lifestyle i.e. diet, exercise, but instead look for a product or something they can buy to remedy their problem, when in actuality their problem or being "underweighted" is in reality a health concern of being overweight. I see a lot of really big(overweight) divers that are in for a sure heart attack or stroke.
Didn't mean to steal the thread just can't help getting in some health "highlights".......
