yup i had a hood and gloves with that. we were pretty shallow (it was my checkout dives), probably 25 ft max.

the suit seemed to fit well, it was tight. but i noticed throughout the dive that i avoided moving my arms at all because every time i did, water would flush through and make me bite down on reg in shock! so i'm guessing it just wasn't a decent sealing suit.

my new bare 5/3 seems to have nice seals everywhere... i'll see how if it flushes when i'm in FL next week.

i did try pouring warm water in the suit before i waded in. but all the water drained out before it could do any good. maybe it wasn't as good a fit as i thought.

i'll be more picky on fit and seals next time.

Fran Marcoux lesson #1: Duct Tape!

Perhaps some duct tape will be in order to keep things all together!

A self-proclaimed duct tape engineer I once knew was fond of saying that Duct Tape was like The Force... it has a light side, and a dark side, and it binds the universe together.

It really seemed to work well for the water retention too, although I haven't had much luck using it for anything that requires it to last for more than a dive or two.

Besides, I'm hoping to be busy with seals, photos, and keeping an eye out for gold coins. (Some have been found there over the years)

Here, I'll repost Matt's opening post for the benefit of those who slept through most of the thread. :snooze:

A couple of us were talking (in a different thread) about maybe getting a group together to go for a "Swim with the Seals/Isle of Shoals" NE Scubaboarders group trip...

Rumor around the water cooler is that the best time to see the seals is in late August. So...if you are interested, vote on a day so that we can see how many people and what kind of boat we might need.

Thanks,
Matthew
