invited(along with bob, lisa, Julie, Stephen and timg) to join captain Curt(on the R/V ENDSLEY) on an exploratory great hammerhead dive trip between ALLIGATOR AND TENNESSEE REEFS approx. 4.5 miles offshore the southern tip of Islamorada(lower matecumbe key). 2 hammerheads cooperated on the 1st dive(close to 1 hour of interaction), zero on subsequent dives. plenty of chum used. stirred up visibility 30-35FT, minimal current and water temp 79F @ 35FT. terrific accommodating crew, well run operation. pics from bob and timg,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Great pix any other wildlife show up

a few large nurse sharks, groupers, snappers, various reef fish. I think overall CURT was hoping there would be more sharks showing up(he's observed reef, tiger, sandbar and bulls in this area). there are heading back again tomorrow,,,

Nice change to see some bigger sharks on the Keys reefs! Guess you have to be looking for them to find them.
