Hi,
Ok I know a few places where seals are, Elephant seals I know where the mass gathering is but they're wayyy too aggressive to scuba in the water! Is monterey a good place?
Or somewhere in San Diego?

Please post if you know any places in California that posses good marine life (seals and possibly dolphins).

Thanks :06:

Some spots in Catalina, Seal Rock/Dead Man's Reef in Laguna, can really say for SD.

Of course, have I actually seen one while I was underwater? No. But everyone else on the boat was talking about the stupid pups that didn't come and play with me!

(sarcastic but true rant off.)

Seals in Catalina aggressive?
Yea I just sit in the water and watch them go about(best way cuz ur not asking for trouble, nor are u being center of their attentoion....although sometimes they crowd around and it's funny). Snorkeling in Catalina any good to see SEALS(i SAW ONE UP CLOSE ON A KAYAK BUT NEVER DIVING).

Usually right next to the Great Whites, enjoy the dive..........

LOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL......wow that's hilarious Great White in Catalina...I thought I saw a manatee there too. :06:
There have been dozens of Great White sightings at Catalina in the past ten years. There is one that has been seen many times cruising between Seafan Grotto and Bird Rock.

+Hey , lots of spots off the Channel Islands with sealions and harbor seals-- no absolute guarantees , but close. For example, the Great Escape out of Long Beach goes to Santa Barbara Island. I've had some great dives there when the sealions enjoyed it as much as I did, with the pups letting me scratch them, blowing bubbles in my mask, etc. About a month ago on the Conception of Truth Aquatics four harbor seals were all aound us showing off their skills and tugging at our fins. Diving with those mammals have been some of my best experiences in years of diving multiple sites, Go For it!!

Yea but not close to shore, I was talking bout 1 mile. Great Whites are misunderstood. They mistake us for food, I know how because I was diving with my cousins I forgot where :06: (John u rember..lol...I think it was in SanDiego or sumttin..probably not) and a 13 foot Great White was not to far away from us. Didn't apprach us or anything just swam bye. :11: :11:

Yea, I want to go to the channel Islands not sure where it is(I think around Ventura)...Do you take a boat or sumting?

This June when I was visiting friends in SoCal. I dove at Seal Rock in Laguna Beach. Got to dive with two sea lions. It was really cool the way they would zip around you and then come back and just stare at you. Check out this website they give a small map with the sites on it: www.lagunaseasports.com.

Hope it is of some help to you.
