Definately the Indra is a good beginner wreck to start out on. That was the first wreck that I dove in NC
 
Good recommendations on NC dives. The shallower in-shore wrecks generally have poorer visibility, but are OK dives nonetheless. I agree with the Hyde. A little deeper (~80ft) than some new OW divers might start with, but easily doable (my 16 yo daughter did the Hyde easily as her 4th OW dive after certification and loved it). On a good day, this is probably one of my favorite, most relaxing NC coast dives. Good vis, low / minimal current, wonderful sand tigers, easy to navigate. Markham has great shark's teeth, but more current and less to see (not upright).
