Going to back gas while switching stages?

Wondering about this, I would have the stage/deco on top of everything. Does anyone else feed the hose under the long hose?

Definite no

If you do this you've trapped the hose to the reg in your mouth so its no longer donatable. Your long hose needs to be properly clipped when you aren't breathing it, so with your stage/deco reg trapped you have nothing donatable at all, and for no value.
