I agree with most of the above advice, but we really need to clear up the semantic problem at hand.

A "goatee" is a beard below the mouth that does not extend outwards across the face. I have a goatee, and would have to be doing something pretty damned strange for it to ever touch the skirt of my mask.

A "moustache" on the other hand, can indeed cause issues. Do what works for you, but a good starting point is spending the time (and money I guess) to find the right mask for your face. A decent high quality silicone skirt is a must.
Yeah, that was my feeling in my post, but no one picked up on it. I get overlooked a lot. :D

Yes, well - first, stop wearing your mask on your chin. Even if you get it to seal, you can't see worth caca. :frlol:

Now, if you guys are talking about moustaches... ?

The word "goatie" is a reference to the hair on the chin of the Billy/male goat, so I figured the poster was probably talking about his upper lip growth that men usually have with a goatie.

SueMermaid:
Oh, you were talking about...nevermind. :05:

No, you only use a goat with a drysuit..... ;)

Cute goats by the way - are they yours? I'm hoping to have some pygmy goats at our next house, we can't have livestock at this one.

i agree with the earlier post.....try a snorkel or mouthpiece in ur mouth then check the seal of ur mask, it'll make all the diff in the world! i dive only 4 or 5 days a week with a full beard, and a proper fitting mask and have little to no problems with leakage :)
