If anyone is interested, I did pick up some spring straps that look to work quite well. I will pick up some larger #8 screws to fit tighter in the fin mounts, but the included screws would work fine too. I think these will be great to fit my rock boots, add a little weight, and make it easy to change between straps.

Dumb question: Will these work with the old Dacor Turbo Flex fins?

No idea with those fins, sorry. The Highland straps can mount with the screws like Go Sports or have a bracket to go over a post on the fins for that style. The included screws are #6 x 1.5” if that helps.

I have SP Go Sports as well and although I love them, the non-interchangeable straps concern me a bit. For going on a trip, should I just buy a second set in case a strap breaks?

I only did this conversion to have the option of both lightweight shorter straps for wet boots and heavier longer springs for dry rock boots. For this it works great. I’ve never had concerns about the factory straps, but it does also take a small screwdriver or two to get the plastic pins out.

The new Gorrila version of the Go-Sport has a heavier bungee and stouter clasp. I never had any problem with the Go-Sport bungees nor now with my Gorilla Go-Sports HD bungees. I had initially thought they might be a problem and potentially be prone to breaking but never did they and never have they. It is easy to order a spare set of straps, they weigh nothing and the Go-Sports themselves in standard or Gorilla are very light fins. I have not verified but I think the HD Gorrilla bungee will fit the standard Go-Sport and vice versa. I do carry a spare set in my roller dive bag.

Thanks for your responses. Good to know that I likely won't have an issue with the Go Sport straps...but if I did the local dive OP probably wouldn't have a way to replace one. I think I'll carry a spare from now on.

I always have spares of the little things no matter what. There a post above that shows how a go sport owner installed a "Highland" brand spring straps on the go sport fins. You can always use them if you can't get the SP version.

Thanks @BoltSnap. The Highlands look nice, but I prefer a bungee strap to a spring strap, especially for the warm water diving that I do, so I may just get a replacement set of SP straps.

Just for whomever is interested, I did a little research on how to remove/replace the Go Sport straps and there is not much out there (either here or on YT).

How to remove

Here is something I may do try on my existing straps, to avoid the headache of the above (posts 8 and 12):

Hack for plastic pin

I like the bungee straps and especially the HD version on the Gorrilla. I have no intention of adding the weight and discomfort of a heavy spring. The plastic pins are easy to remove. They just push out. I may get around to replacing them with a barrel bolt or metal pin but now having used these fins for several years and a number of dive friends having them also, they have proven themselves not to be failure prone. But I will say again, if you are going some place where you are in a pickle if a strap where to break, carry a spare set.
