We usually go to gilboa but just decided to try somwhere closer to my inlaws house. I like gilboa, but i hate the gas prices and my truck loves its gas.

I like all of the the quarries for different reasons and try to dive all of them when I can.

However, I have a season pass for Gilboa so I dive that more often. They now have the best platforms of all the quarries, too.

My goal is to dive as much as I can so I can practice, practice, and practice. Gilboa is ideally sited for me in that regard.

I haven't dived portage. If I go out that way, I usually just go to Gilboa.

I know it's only a quarry but I've dived around a bit and I actually like diving the place.

Me too. It's like an old pair of shoes or hanging with an old buddy sometimes. :blinking:

Mike's got some interesting stuff off to the side, in the front of the quarry. Not sure when he's going to sink any of it, but it looks like it'll be fun after he does.

There is to much staff in the quarry now , I hope "someone" is going to clean up a little bit :D , stay away from the bus, cars, pickup if you have a drysuit. At the DUI rally more then one drysuit hs dbeen ripoff by the old rusty bus.
Deep dive...only 80ft:(

I would like to see him "hide" some more small items in the areas that get less diver pressure. Nothing big or fancy that could become a main attraction but I think it's neat to dive along and "discover" something you haven't seen before especially when you dive there regularly.

While there is a lot of big stuff in there and some of it is getting to the point it needs to be replaced it's a lot of fun for new divers to be able to easily navigate most of the quarry, see a bunch of stuff and feel they can pretty easily find their starting point.

I have a drysuit and have about 200 dives at Gilboa with the same drysuit... probably have of those I've been through the bus..... multiple times on a given dive. No incidents yet. It makes good practice for wreck and/or tight cave diving.

Going to be at Portage for the DAN bbq in july. would like to meet some of you there. My fiance and I will be there and so far some maybe we'll goes. I may need a buddy for the treasure hunt. Will be staying at the quality inn in findlay. guess it used to be the country hearth according to portage's website. We are coming up on friday and will be there all weekend. Have a blue aztec. and she is in a wheelchair. Look us up. Guess I'll bring the drysuit unless you guys think a 5 mil would be enough? Have not done any quarries yet but been in water 42 degrees and really dont like to go wet under 73 or so.BTW my girl just called me a wuss for that. She on the other hand will not go in water less than 82 or so. I may take her for a dip just to hear her squeal. Jim
