Dear All,

I will be soon purchasing a 2nd hand regulator set from a nice guy here at Scubaboard (ams511).

The whole set consists of:

1) US Divers Conshelf 21 1st/2nd Stages
2) Prosub Octo
3) Dacor depth and pressure guages

I was wondering if anyone here have used these before and could give me some comment about its usage and its maintenance?

I'll be oxygen cleaning it and using it with my homemade rebreather (steel tank, 6 cu ft). And in the event it doesn't work, I'll just go back to good old scuba. =D

Thanks in advance, God Bless

TC

Getting them serviced with be troublesome,
the U.S. Divers stuff with be easy, It's the Prosub octo that's gonna be a PITA,
Gonna be hard to find replacement parts for it, I once had a Prosub DX500 set-up
could only find one dealer that had parts for them and he was in Florida. The parts are very similiar to a Tusa (model number I forget). If you can find a good tech he should be able to do a tune up on it. Prosub does or did have a website and if it's still there you can email them and find out where that Florida dealer is

I regret selling my US Divers Conshelf 21 1st/2nd Stages for the sake of having something new. It is a really good regulator.

I agree with the Pro Sub octo. There are not many dealers for that equipment, and look at the octo close , if it is the same vintage as the Conshelf. The plastic used in the housings is brittle and may be cracked from aging.

Thanks for all your replies.

Can I concludes that US Conshelf has a good reputation for durability?

By the way,ams511, I've replied your email.

Will tell you guys more when my pool test is successful.

Do check the plastic second stage of the Conshelf 21 where it meets the hose. US Divers replaced that part for free eventhough mine showed no cracks.
