A diving instructor was fatally injured while rescuing her 61-year-old diving buddy on Saturday. She was taken to the hospital, where she died on Sunday.
A 74-year-old diving instructor from Bavaria and a 61-year-old from North Rhine-Westphalia went diving at Lake Wolfgang last Saturday. At a depth of about 30 meters, the German had a medical emergency, the Salzburg police reported in a broadcast today.

The diving instructor initiated an emergency ascent, but was
critically injured herself . She was taken to a special clinic in Murau, but died there on Sunday from her serious injuries. Her dive buddy, who was also taken to the hospital, was released from the hospital after undergoing decompression therapy.
