I sorta doubt that Rob. Doing it since a long time ago and doing it a lot are two entirely different matters :)
Rick

Well, either way, I think it will be fun just to go for a dive together. Shoot me a PM the next few times you're over here and I'll try to coordinate my schedule with yours.

I just hope whatever video they manage to recover is made public, so that everyone gets a clear picture of the conditions the searchers have been diving in as they attempt to resolve this.

When the case is closed, you might be able to put in a request for it.. till then... forget about it.

is there ANY video of the vortex cave beyond the gate available?

None that is very good. Takes too big of a camera/light setup to get a great video. These restrictions and flow are pretty rough on videographers.

I couldn't find any video, but there are some great pics here: Taucher Tom

Notice the buried line is in the last photo....

After looking at the pictures and video that has been posted on this cave system, why would anyone want to go back into it after the first time? It looks to me like a contruction site.... There must better better looking cave systems to dive in around in, isn''t there? I was hoping to head down that way next year after I finish my full cave this winter in Playa.

Who would want to be average? :)

I can think of some people who should aspire to rise to that level

If you look at the second to last pic the one thing you should know is that it doesn't look like that now. you can actually avoid going through that fissure and swim under it, that's how much they have vaccumed out. That fissure to me is the only thing worth seeing in the cave. That and the area that's been grated off permanetly.
