I agree with the backplate and wing for sure. There is a guy on the board here named fredt that makes great backplates and single tank adapters (sta's). Pm him if you decide on a bp and wings. Do a lot of research here. Do searches on every product before you buy. Don't be like me and buy all your equipment twice. I think you should also read the Doing It Right: The Fundamentals of Better Diving book that is for sale at http://www.gue.com/catalog/order --even if technical diving doesn't interest you, it talks a lot about equipment and safety IMO a must read for new divers (like you and I).
