Hi folks,

I missed the Meet & Greet with an ear infection and won't be diving this weekend because of other commitments and I'm seriously jonesing to get back in the water.

My birthday is next week and I figured a great birthday gift to myself would be to take the day off work and head to Gilboa. I heard midweek is a great time to dive there because the viz is a lot better. Unfortunately hubby is really busy and most likely won't be able to go with me so I'm in need of a buddy.

I'm not 100% sure about this yet so I'm basically checking to see if anyone is available mid week next week, and if so, whether or not that person would be interested in diving with me. Remember, total newbie here. Dive #7 with a new wetsuit (hopefully) and a new dive computer. I need someone patient! Also someone who can probably decide last minute whether or not they can go based on the weather forecast. I can take either day (Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday for that matter) so it doesn't matter to me, will just depend on weather.

Anyone?

Hi There,

I may very well be up for diving 10/3/06. I have about a 2 1/2 hour drive so I would not be there at the crack of dawn. I too have heard the vis is much better mid week. Please PM me so we can talk about specifics. I would like to do at least two dives given the day off and drive distance. I look forward to hearing from you soon. Thank you. Have a great day.

Lance

For me, Gilboa is just over 1 hour drive. While I SHOULDN'T take off work......

Give me a PM as you decide. I need at least one day notice, if possible, to make arrangements for being gone from work. Shhhhhhh, don't tell!!!

Saturday morning the vis was 40+ feet on the platform. Nice part about the platform is its real easy to get a good estimate. By Noon Saturday it was half that. I caught a bunch swiming under the plane, man the cloud they kicked up was horendous. For a momement, I considered pulling a James Bond and slashing their air hoses and ripping off their masks. But I settled for some dirty looks. Besides, I'm pretty sure that cutting those hoses isn't as easy as it looks in the movies.
