A ScubaBoard Staff Message...

A touchscreen?! Wow. I wouldn't have thought that possible underwater due to pressures involved. It will be interesting to hear how well that works. I am assuming it is intended for use both underwater and on the surface, but perhaps I am making assumptions. I'll need to read up on it. Interesting feature.

ADDITION: Looks like the touchscreen is just on the surface, buttons are used underwater.

Garmin keeps innovating, which is great. Now if they would just ditch their proprietary transmitter and go with the standard just about everyone else uses.

The fact that they do not support the MH8A standard used by so many other dive computers is alone the one downside that will prevent me from ever giving Garmin a try.

But, but, that's what allows you to monitor the gas of 7 other divers and to send subwave sonar-based messages :)
