Love how the content creation goes deep to JJ-CCR wreck diving, totally had me fooled that there was a DiveCAN integration 😆🧞‍♂️ I guess we are supposed to ask, why not?? But when??

Day 0 aiming right at Shearwater's most dominant, unique, working*, and loyal slice of the market? (deep eCCRs?)

It will take some serious ingenuity to get a share of that market--unless it is meant to be the companion backup computer / PLB / take calls / check emails on the surface and not just another tek computer

[*aside from that little power loss issue on some units]

Will there be inertial / gyro underwater mapping, integrated with surface GPS entry/exit?

If the data is too erratic on a wrist, maybe the wrist console reads from a remote inertial transmitter mounted on the tank or backplate etc ?

I will be impressed when they release the model that places you (and your dive team) accurately on this map in real time while diving:

They cater to in shape and adventurous people, or those that want to be. I no longer own any SW computers, not because I think garmin better, I just have garmin stuff for all other activities. The innovation since the MK1 in a short amount of time is impressive though.

Overall this is of no personal interest to me, things I like are 1 rechargeable…

Thing I don’t like 1 proprietary charging system.

Little things get lost easily (by me at least) so I prefer the QI wireless charging and a battery pack with QI ability.

Garmin overall is really stepping up with a lot of innovation, much of it like texting on a dive can be useful in some places.

Personally underwater GPS is what I’m waiting for

"Diver to diver messaging?" I can see that both being terrible and useful.
It is pre-written messages, probably mission-oriented. I have never seen people complaining about using wet notes, although you can write messages back and forth between you and buddy- these can be anything from technical decompression data to dad jokes and deco stip tic tac toe playing.. So why different on a computer? That one can choose and send canned messages to divers with same computer?

I don't think Shearwater has much to worry about. Unlike their smart watch offerings, the new Garmin features appeal to a very small niche.

Personally, the last thing I want to do underwater is look at screen texts (I do too much of that above water).
