I'd really like to find a single sheet, waterproof fish guide for the Galapgos or maybe South America Pacific. Closest I've got is for Costa Rica. Any ideas?

They sell them in Puerto Ayorra in the Galloping Pogos, but in any decent book store in Quito or Guayaqil they'll have them. Are you doing a liveaboard? Certainly they will.

I have never found much value in the take-along variety. It's just a small placcard with a few creatures, surely 1/2 of it will be taken up with Mobula Rays, Hammerheads and Seals.

There are so few indvidual critters that you will see in the Galapagos, I think maybe I've seen 35 species in all of my many dives there.

Here's the classic book http://www.amazon.com/Reef-Fish-Identification-Paul-Humann/dp/1878348353 ...and they have always worked for me!
