My husband has worked on both the Aggressors and Sky Dancer. He is a certified Naturalist Guide as well as Dive Master for those boats, and between dives, they always lead land tours (except at Wolf & Darwin).

You know, yes, I think what they mean (specifically Ken's pharasing in his post) is that the other boats sometimes have a trip that's entirely land-based, no diving offered at all that week. The Aggressors and Sky Dancer have never done that; they are dedicated dive boats, and every trip is a dive trip. But they have certified Naturalist Guides on board (usually also the same guy who is the divemaster for the week), and they give land tours at the southern and central islands while they're anchored there for dives.

I agree that what is going to happen later (2008 & beyond), we're going to have to book it the way you're talking about: 2 separate "tours", one diving and the other land tours, because boats are going to have to offer one or the other, but not both.

Same as John and Lou, maybe if we are in the same dive spot together we should ask our Captains if we can all get together for a beer and have a big group hug and congratulate each other for suviving all the stress over the last 6 weeks :)

I also have a friend who is on the PH boat at the same time, we could have one hell of a party.

Now there's a thought, Fiona!

I am having the same concerns about the Galapagos Eco Explorer I. As a follow up question has anyone been on this boat or taken a trip through Explorer Ventures? What was your experience? Thx!

I'm in for a group hug! Bonding between all the nationalities! And about that beer. Make it a pint...

@girellator: I let you guys know when we have the offical statement. And I will try to post some underwater images when we return...

And, through Wetpixel I got a very nice link with a summary of all the things that are going on in the Galapagos:

PS: Does anybody joins the Lammerlaw on october 6th? I'm very curious who are aboard.

Today, I recieved the official statement from our operator that we are going to Darwin and Wolf. Yihaaaaaaaaa!!! I'm a lucky man. See below...

Dear Joost,

Yesterday, Diving to Wolf & Darwin Islands was re-opened and all Lammer Law and Mistral cruises that we have sold until December 31, 2007 will be able to visit both islands. Your October 6th cruise to Wolf and Darwin will continue!

We are still discussing with the National Park as to what will happen to
diving cruises in 2008 and we will keep you informed.

Best regards,
