Okay, but do Intro level divers need more than 4 hours burn time? More than 2? If they don't, then why spend $600 on a cordless light?

Two shallow C1/Intro level cave dives at intro level can easily last 2 hours or more. The divers may prefer to not cut it too close and to have at least twice that long in available burn time. They may be planning to obtain extra training and go farther/deeper/longer and invest accordingly.

There's like 4hrs of diving per day during the course.

Anything less than 4 just doesn't cut it imo.

This.

Also burn time is not about planning to use all of the light during a cave dive. It's that you have a fully functional light with enough battery power to keep working in the event something goes wrong delaying your exit.

The last thing anyone needs is having their light die while in a series of unfortunate events.

all about that, and especially important for intro divers. You might say that "oh well they are limited to sixths" and because of that the dive time is say 60 minutes so why do you need 3 hours of burn time for that dive. There is still 3 hours of gas on the diver and if they get hung up somewhere, for whatever reason, the last thing you want them to have to deal with is a light who's battery pack sh!t the bed on them because it wasn't sized big enough

interesting that the word **** didn't get filtered out

I wouldn't sh!t you, you are my favorite turd..
