Just lost my Sola 1200 in my last dive trip, and also found the sadly news that L&M is now out of business. Could I get some wisdoms here for my next main light that may have similar features (lumen / beam types) to Sola 1200?

- I am not a tech or cave diver. When I use my Sola, it is seldom set to the highest power.
- Having a hand strap would be nice as I do enjoy the one came with Sola.
- Being able to replace batteries between dive would be nice too: Out of battery after long dives may be the only thing that my Sola worried me about.

Thanks for your help!

Dive Rite FX40 is probably your closest comparison and still made in the USA

If you’re after a small light that has the same kind of flood/spot light as the Sola S/F models, I highly recommend the Nanight X1. It’s tiny, uses a very commonly available battery (21700) that you can hot-swap or externally charge, and has a good tight spot beam and a very even flood beam.

If you can’t find a handle that you like for it, DM me. I manufacture custom hard and soft Goodman handles for a variety of lights, and I’ve got models for the X1 already.

Hey a primary secondary and the other one, C/O Innerspace Explorers

Just don't lose any of them

That’s a good question actually. I bought mine from DiveInn, which is European but ships to the US very easily. There are a number of stores listed as dealers for Nanight in the US, so it might be worth contacting one closer to you and asking if they can get it. Or, you can order from GiDive Store, I’ve had them ship stuff to me before.

I agree with @tbone1004. I'm looking to buy a couple of FX40s. I have a couple of Diverite LX20+ that I'm looking to sell (great lights and substantially cheaper than a new FX40). If you're interested, let me know.

I’m not familiar with the Sola 1200 but it sounds like it was a bit of overkill.

Why not something like a DiveRite CX3 with a soft Goodman?

You could buy two and still be ahead.
