Survey in full cave is nothing more than that you know where you was. Or that you can plan with a map. It is part of learning how to 'read a cave'. Making a real map is not the goal, only maybe a rough idea where you was. The full cave diver course is a course for 'recreational cave diving' in caves where already lines are, but you are not limited in depth/deco (normal c-cards) and navigational decisions.
If you want to go further, you do it on your own without any 'advanced cave' course by just using your brains and extend your limits, or you follow a course. And even after following a course or extending your limits, most cave divers will never do any exploration. The 'advanced' cave courses are still quite limited as there is allways a risk and the instructor is responsible. Real exploration with ccr, dpv, no mount, maybe SRT, etc is something you grow in. Or never happens. If you never do real survey or exploration, you still can enjoy cave diving, nothing wrong with that.
Most cave divers don't have any interest in doing any survey or exploration. The ones who are interested will find their own way, with or without courses, workshops, books, etc.
