Yes i did and this was another hassle. I spoke w/ the manufacture and they said that name wasn't listed. I then gave them the # and they said they cannot query by that (WTF??). Anyway, I did some research and found their other DBA which is a reseller. Apparently many of these amazon 3rd party sellers shield themselves by using different names (What a joke). The company is actually a member here although not active for quite a few years.Have you verified the seller was a Scuba max authorized retailer?
Your experience illustrates why it's important to not wait 11 months to make sure purchased gear works as advertised. I don't see any issue with Scubamax response. As to their quality, they are known for cheap gear, not for high quality gear.
I only dive in warm water so unless i'm leaving the country to go diving I'm unable to find salt water to dump my items in just to see if they'll corrode. It's just not feasible for many of us to "test our gear" right away.
Scubamax offers a 1 year warranty. They were 11 months old and in warranty so you see no problem with them putting me aside and stopping replies after they say go to their reseller for an RMA. Then after I wated a month w/o any real response after MANY follow up emails to them and then advising them (Scubamax) of that and having them go silent? I assume you don't run a successful business.
