On a related note, I got a couple of slap straps done with my name and have them on my mask and backup mask. I like them a lot. $22 each.

can anyone post photos of the plate rigged and set up on a tank with a Kraken or other double hose? I will be ordering my plate tonight and want to see how to set it up when it gets here.

@guyharrisonphoto Here you go mate. This is my SS FP with an Qxycheq wing and stiff harness. I actually prefer the VDH wing, and Goldilocks webbing, however I would rig it the same. Thanks to @stuartv for the adjustable strap idea that allows hanging the rig on the tank even with weights. This makes it much easier for an old man to attach the cam bands.

Note all of the rubber bands I strung on the webbing. They are very useful to keep things streamlined-you cannot have too many as the never get in the way. I also have a couple on the corrugated inflator hose keeping the lp hose tamed.

First, just the plate and wing. I use Eric's web routing.

Next, the Kraken is mounted. I leave the wing in front of the can-but I've seen it done either way.

@guyharrisonphoto, also know that the photo Couv is showing is a version 2 pre contoured plate. If you notice, that model is skinnier around the shoulder blades because it’s flat side to side (curved top to bottom). It had to be skinny to allow the plate to fit in between the shoulder blades without digging in to them.

The first fully contoured model was version 3. With that model I was able to widen the center strap a bit because the edges were rolled out and the edges of the plate no longer “bit” from being flat.
With the newest contoured design (V4) the plate will sink into the channel in between your shoulder blades very naturally to provide a new level of comfort. I was also able to reshape the plate a bit to shift some of the weight up.

Ha! I have mine rigged with the top like the one on the right and the bottom like the one on the left.

Eric has told me that the plate was intended for the top to be done like the one on the left. But, I confess I am still unclear why that is preferable to the top being like the one on the right.

I’m over it.
Rig it however you want and which way works best for you.
I might even try the outside method just to make sure I’m not missing out on something good.
