Sorry I know this is an old thread but I came across it while looking to buy my 3rd foldspear. I've already lost 2 ! Has anyone heard from Foldspear concerning this issue ?

The new holster has a metal snap to keep it closed. I saw one a the LDS. Anyone with any experience with the new holster ?

The foldspear has been upgraded with heavier aluminum tubing. I don't know about the carry pouch, but the spear itself is noticably more robust.

Agreed. I gifted my first foldspear, and the one that replaced it is definately build of tubing with thicker walls. The connection between segments is noticably tighter. The straps seem a little stronger too, but the flap on mine is still held closed with velcro.
