So this my second try to get recommandations concerning folding snorkels that a diver can carry with him.

As I am trying to avoid making international purchases, I did a an extensive search on the internet, and these are apparently the only snorkels that can be purchased directly in Canada: Oceanic, XS Scuba Cargo, or MonkeyJack. (This is probably not true, but reflects the limitations of the Google search engine, which I am unable to correct. If anyone is aware of other good brands that can be purchase here, please let me know.)

Can anyone on ScubaBoard recommend one brand over another, especially in terms of ease of breathing, and rapidity of deployment ?

I have the XS Scuba and I have rarely ever used it but take it on my dives with students when required. It deploys easily and works well enough.

XS cargo, cheap and works, $10 from Piranha dive

I have the $10 Piranha special. It seems fine - but it comes out of the pocket to get rinsed.

Other than being more expensive, the one issue I have with the Oceanic is that it uses Velcro to attach to your mask strap. You have to press on both sides to get a good connection.
