That's not nearly so bad as that sudden blunt encounter with Mr. Physics at the end.

ramblinpaul:Finally, remember there is no need to travel with your weights ;-).
bubblemonkey:hopefully this is the right section....
i know alot of airlines allow golf clubs onto flights not as part of your 20-25 kg weight allowance, but what about scuba?
speedhound:Hi there,
I see you're in the UK, so there a couple of things that the US does differently over here than in the UK.
If you're travelling through the US, you'll be expected to leave your bags unlocked once you enter the US baggage system. This is to allow the TSA (aka...not even going to go there, but you can find the threads) to inspect your baggage in the "interests of security".
Two suggestions for this situation: keep your valuables, computer/reg in your check in luggage; see if they have "TSA" approved locks in the UK. The TSA should be able to unlock, inspect and then replace the locks afterwards . ( I say should...again you can find more threads on this.)
Also, while accepting bags up to 70lb / 32kg, most US airlines now appear to be charging extra for anything over 50lb/22kg . This of course is variable on how nice you are to the staff, financial situation of airline, time of day, time of month...the usual variables.
..And of course, the classic no lighters, knives, scissors, tools, etc in hand luggage. This restriction has officially been "eased" in the past month or so to allow small tools and small scissors, but I don't think that this has filtered down to the TSA "grunts" yet.
....and finally my last b+tch....Most European Airline still serve free alcohol in cattle class. With US airlines it's usually $5/5/3GBP a drink.
Other than the above, I hope you have a good trip. Dive safe and have fun!!
MoonWrasse:I strongly disagree. Carry on your regs, computer, camera.
