Even this guy in the photo, with all his bail out tanks, is completely at the mercy of his buddy if his CCR malfunctions. And even then only if he is lucky will he make it back alive.

Demonstrates a high level of ignorance

My personal rules for scuba prohibit equipment that is less than 100% reliable. O/C with 2 of everything is more than 100% reliable. Probably close to 200% reliable.

Also demonstrates a high level of ignorance

believe the DSS plates are better than Halcyon's.
Based on what? Your vast amount of experience with each plate?

And that the Oxycheq wings are better than Halcyon's.
That's a bold statement. Are you even certified to write on the board here. Prove it please.

And that SARTEK lights are better than Halcyon's.
Is this because you own one? Are you sure that your friends wife heard from her second cousin that has a step brother who's other half sister works at Sartek stated so?

And that ScubaPro gauges are better than Halcyon's.
You are so wrong about this! Air integrated computers are the best!

But you got a good package deal.:eyebrow:
I'm sure yours is better.

Sorry I could not resist. I read your crap all the time and it really gets old.

---for the interest of this thread, I just dropped another $1000+ on new steel tanks, fins and a brass SPG

let the good times roll

Wow . . . I have to admit, I'm waiting for the point where your wallet is empty enough to drive you to used gear. I hit it before you did. But I just bought two new Al40's, because I couldn't find any used ones, and as soon as I paid for them, people started advertising used ones all over the place :sigh_2:

-I looked around local for used stuff and there was nothing really available. A few people were selling odds and ends like twins and regs but they wanted way too much for them.

Even here on the boards, after I factored in the Canada/US exchange rate, shipping, and customs, a few extra dollars got me brand new off the shelf gear

Plus I bought exactly what I wanted after lots of research and "kicking the tires" so I didnt settle for something just becasue it was a good price. I did that all to often with my recreational gear and ended up selling it just to upgrade to what I really wanted from day one.

However, I might have to settle used on a primary can light, as led technology keeps getting better, or maybe I can snatch a deal on an outgoing model.
