My morning routine usually includes a visit to a Cozumel webpage or two while I have my coffee, and this is one of them: Grand Park Royal Cozumel en vivo, Cozumel - Webcams de México which looks out at the cruise ship dock near La Ceiba. Lately I have noticed more days (like today Monday 8/15) when the dock is vacant; are fewer cruise ships going to Cozumel these days?
The number of ships is only part of the picture. I think a more accurate measure would be the total number of passengers on board.

Today, Monday August 29, there were two ships:
Disney Fantasy carrying 5,458 and Rhapsody of the Seas carrying 2,805.

Tomorrow, Tuesday August 30, there will be 4 ships:
Allure of the Seas with 7,878
Carnival Paradise with 3,526
Carnival Valor with 4,936
Liberty of the Seas with 5,008

For a grand total of 21,348 lost souls.

It gets better.

Wednesday the 30th, there will be 8 carrying 38,412.

It would appear that cruising is alive and well.

Any idea how full the ships actually are? A recent cruise I was on was only about 2/3 capacity. Upcoming cruise shows availability in most room categories.

We were told there are issues obtaining crew as well as passengers...

The head taxes per passenger must produce insane revenues for Cozumel. Anyone have any idea how the cruise lines pay per cruiser?

Are those numbers ships' capacity or actual number of passengers?

It was easy for me to find and post the numbers, but as the op, the subject is clearly of more interest to you than me.
Enjoy your research.
Feeling a bit prickly today, are ya'? 'Sno biggie; we all have days like that.

FWIW it's the number of ships I was talking about, not the people on them. I don't go where the cruseros go but the BUBs spoil the view.
