So I have two tanks that I'd like to sell. I bought them used (here on SB), with a condition that they would pass hydro. The seller took them to his local shop, and they passed, and I paid him for the tanks (and the shop for the hydro).

Now I'm selling the tanks and a comment was made that the stamp is not real, or that there's some other issue with it. After looking at the stamp again, I can see how it's different then the other older stamps.

What's the experts opinions?

I'm feeling a little bit uneasy. These were bought as a package, with an AL40 as well. The picture below is of the AL... all three stamps are different...

What's your life worth? Feel free to bring em to a local hydro shop. Also if you bought in Boston, reach out to some of the local divers in the Boston area(there are quite a few) who might be able to vouch for this person's veracity...Also it seems these were hydros in September of Last year...why are you just now looking into this?

Issue is I bought these tanks in Boston MA, and I live in Albany NY. A few hours drive.
I took pictures of my 3 pst hp100 Hydro stamps for you to compare. I will say that I've never seen a stamp without the RIN in between. The stamps also look really sloppy. A shop that performs hydrostatic testing should be pretty good at stamping as it is a serious certification. I'm not an expert but those stamps are sketchy.

I'm just posting about this now because I was going to sell the tanks (on SB) and someone commented about the stamp. I've a very new diver, and or all the ways to get ripped off I didn't think a fake hydro stamp was one of them.

I just reached out to the shop who I paid to have the hydro done at. I'm curious what they have to say. The reason the sale went down like this is because I bought the tanks without a current hydro. The seller said they would pass, he took them to his shop, they passed, I paid him, and drove out to get the tanks, paying the shop when I got there.
