I suggest starting to purchase your own gear as well as find a dive club or do some charters on this note my personal opinion is that husbands and wives should nit be dive buddy's unless they were dive buddies before they met I've experienced couples underwater and usually hear one cursing the other and the yelling continues topside the club can usually set you up with dive buddies that will show you around and aid in your development and you may get some fun out of it as well
