Hi guys...hopefully I´ll have more to talk about next week, all the operators have been closed for the past two months in Mojacar, so no air fills to be had.Shopping list for next year, buy my own compressor. Weather been pretty bad for past few weeks, exactly the same as this time last year.
Last dived in January, night dive from the shore in place called Garrucha. Marbled rays [ come with a danger warning ] cuttlefish, bream etc, no barracuda which was suprising, cause the place is normally thick with them.
Planning to get out next, will keep you posted.

South West coast of Ireland - some of the best diving to be had in Europe. Warmed by the Gulf Stream; you never know what you might come across.

Best visibility is April/May/September
Warmest water: September - 17 degrees Celsius last year.

After a few pints of Guinness one can even see Mermaids and Leprechauns ...... ! :-)))

I like the Guinness part! Not to keen on the 17 degrees! Thats our winter!

Come to Poland on June!!!! Here are some infos:
http://www.scubaboard.com/t51884.html

We do have some great diving places and of course couple of really famous wrecks in the Baltic Sea.

But because it's still rather cold so I'm soon off to Sharm.

just waiting for the sun to start showing up.

i will try to dive in my country, maybe sesimbra, before heading to porto santo and try my first wreck dive.
i'm just out of OW and i believe the currents there are not very strong.

also planning a trip to dahab, to get my AOW and some more dive time. if i still have some time (€€€) this year i might get back to thailand and try some other places. that country really gets to you....

HI Mikelegurra

I've really like Thnailand as well, but I've noticed that "that country really gets to you" particularly if you are a man. :eyebrow:

Go figure ;)

obviously we've never met. otherwise you wouldn't make that sexist remark.
i travelled to thailand with my wife (go figure, i'm married) and we took special care not to travel to BIG tourist centers (go figure, we don't like tourists a lot) and extra special care not to go into the sex industry areas (go figure, we don't like sex tourism).

what i meant, in case you're really interested, is that i've never met people as nice as thai people, always ready to help, even if they don't speak english, or french, or spanish, or portuguese or any other language besides thai, and always smilling at you.
i meant that thai cooking is simply brilliant and you can't get enough of it.
i meant that the country is wonderful (even the areas where tourists seldom go, go figure) and that you can travel by train, car, bike, taxi, jeep, bus, airplane and the price is always very affordable.
i meant that you can walk alone (or, go figure, with your wife) and feel safe, which is something i cannot do in some parts of my quiet country.
i meant that, even after some time, there's always something there to see, that will amaze you.

that's what i meant.

but, sylvie, maybe you should read this

it seems girls are also doing it, go figure!

Lets us know what Italy is like as we get alot of questions about diving there! Have fun! I am about to do Crockadile Rock by boat for those who know this site!

I dived Ibiza last August, the water was 30 degrees, the visability was about 30m. These were my first rib dives after completing my OW so I was pretty nervous. I dived with Rumbo Azul in Playa D'en Bossa and Henri and Peta were excellent. Being Dutch they were naturally laid back and patient which was lovely. I did 3 dives with them and saw the most amazing plaque of J Cousteau in the rocks at 20m Can't remember what Henri said about how it got there. Scholes of every kind of med. fish including at least 30 Barracuda in one group. There was hardly any current so we were down for 61 minutes and I still come out with 50bar on one dive. I loved these 3 dives more than Sharm, I know this will cause an uproar but what can I say "go and try it". I have also dived in Portinax which was where I did my first try dive.
