Some dive comps have user-replaceable batteries, but flood easier.
The other ones have to be sent back for a battery change, which is a real pain in the ass.

Palm recently came out with technology to charge your phone 'wirelessly' through magnetic induction technology.

I thought this would be a good fit for dive computers with no trade-off (to my knowledge).

I'm wondering whether anybody knows if any vendor is working on this, or why this would be a bad idea.

Cheers

Seiko-Epson has this technology and already manufactures a dive computer that's only available in Japan. It uses the PC interface cradle also acts as the charger.

There are numerous rechargeable dive computers on the market, for example the Icon HD, OSTC, X1, Uemis Zurich, VRx.

These all recharge by physical connections. While you can use induction charging to charge a dive computer, what do you feel you would gain over physical contact charging?
