Also, do you need earth quake insurance near Lake Mohave?

Waaaaaa, I want to go home.

I was camping on the Nevada shore of Lake Mohave when the Loma Prieta quake hit. We felt it quite well there, but that one was a big one.

Oh, geez Kev. I can't read that. I'm already afraid to sleep naked.

okay...I guess I'll read it.

I did not know Lake Mohave has a NV shore. We just bought a place up there, we know nothing about the area except for where we ride the dirt bikes from state land where we are, and down to the Colorado River. I did not get earthquake insurance, i wonder if I should?

Welcome back to SoCal Catherine!

Yeah, that read was a shock to think about --practically a localized catastrophe here much like the 2004 Indian Ocean Quake & Tsunami. When you look at the map of the fault zone, the Newport-Inglewood Fault marches right through the most densely populated region of the Los Angeles Basin. . .

Think of all the cool diving after though........."Hey, is that a Rolls-Royce?"

Ugh, we are going down to Seal Beach in 9 months, that looks even worse than here with the liquefaction zones.

Which fault line is the "worst"...the San Andreas or the Newport Mesa?

San Andreas- way bigger.

And pretty much under my house dammit.

Oh, so it is a tie? I think maybe Kev's map says that Newport area is more unstable, ground wise, once it goes.

I checked out the roof today and made a plan to go out there through the door in the office.

I figure we can ride the building down instead of getting mashed in concrete. I also bought stuff for a backpack kit today---cashews, Cliff bars, etc. I'll add the money and the pistol and then I'll feel better. Also, I plan to start wearing PJ's.

Somebody today told me the doors all get stuck, so you should leave your bedroom door cracked. When I lived in San Clemente, I fixated on San Onofre and had a plan to Zodiac to Catalina, if we had prevailing on shore breezes. I guess I forgot about the Tsunamis but I was worried about the fall-out.

I was at home in San Clemente sitting on the couch watching the TV and I thought my cat had jumped onto the couch behind me but then I remembered that I just saw the cat in the other room. Then it came to me, oh earthquake, and darted for a door frame. No damage, just smooth little rolls.

After it was over I realized that my cat isn't one of those animals that goes crazy before a disaster strikes because when I saw him minutes before, he was laying on his back with his legs in the air. :rofl3:
