Thanks for the great idea! Cost to Catalina is a wash compared to boats, but if it means more divers can make it then that's what matters.

Wrecks are good too. What is your suggestion?

I'll refrain from commenting on a trip to a Hooters as there are sooo many pubs/eateries to explore in the area.

I've enjoyed diving the Palawan and Jenny Lynne, but both are deco dives if you want to spend any quality time.

I have a really hard time ditching work since my boss seems to be in my head and know everything I think. But since I haven't been diving at Catalina since 1975, it might be worth a try.

Catalina Express out of Long Beach will be raising their prices April 15 to $69.50 for regular fare and $63.00 for seniors (over 55), parking is now $15 per day. First trip out is at 0615.
Dave it looks like the poll is in favor of the dive park.

The more prices climb, the less business we'll see out here on the island. Grrrr. I remember the days when one way boat fare was about $3.50... but I took the seaplane because it was only $2 more and took 18 min vs 2-3 hours. And I earned more back then in absolute dollars (much more when inflation is accounted for).

We definitely want to keep the diving within everyone's comfort range so that as many folks as possible will join us, from newbies to uber experienced and everything in between.

Blue Steal, Thanks for the ferry info. Google search always yields ferry coupons.

Here is a $7.50 coupon CA Catalina Express savings

FYI, They would not honor my coupon last year because I booked/paid on line. So call in to make reservations and present the coupon when you check in & pay.

8 weeks from today!
