Bill I'll probably sign in with SC on Sunday. I figure it's probably easier that way since I'm doing the class with them on Sat already. On the other hand, they're meeting there at 9:00, so if I sign in under you I can get another hour sleep! They don't open until 10:00, though, right? So I guess it really doesn't matter either way.

That's great Mr. I'm getting the cheap drysuit is looking at DUIs!

YEAH OK, DRYSUITS AINT NO CHEAP ITEM, BUT I'LL TELL YA YOU HAD TO TRY ON THIS SUIT! IT WAS REAl comfy!

as for the why? well if i am gonna dump 7-800 dollars on a decent drysuit...i midas well spend 1100 and get a real good one.
just thinking ahead

oh man...its gonna be cold on the weekend!
better bring your fuzzy warmies!

Ok true. But it also makes for:

A pain in the ass getting to my game tonight.
No one answering the phone at work, so I don't know if we're open.
Having to shovel before we dive

It's only a little snow.
And Franks right, the pictures will be all the better.
Lets try to remember to take some above water this time.

BTW, if you trade in your Exploder for a Jeep you can throw out your shovel.
(sorry, i couldn't help myself)

It should warm up to a nice 30 deg. on Sat. and a little warmer on Sun.
Not to jinx it but, the scuba gods always smile down on me, weather wise.
If you go on a motorcycle run with me though, it will rain on you.

i'll think of you when i sit in that overheated living room wasting my time watching tv. maybe i'll have some ice cream in your honor.
on a more serious note, cold water diving poses its own challenges and risks and the water temp at dutch will definitely qualify for cold water. therefore, i am actually a little surprised that they run classes that time of year because there are special considerations with cold water diving that are not covered in the classes you are taking. did the instructors give you some type of pointers as to equipment considerations e.g. not all regs are suitable for these temps? also, there are certain procedures to keep your reg from freezing and what to do if it does freeze. these things are taught in ice diving classes but certainly apply to any cold (below 40F) water environment even when it is ice free. just wondering how these issues are being handled by the instructors as they go beyond the classes you signed up for but are important in dealing with the environment you will be training in.

Have you people been drinking?! :boozer:

It's supposed to be below zero this weekend! :confused1
I am not too proud to admit that I prefer a warm fireplace and a good book to the underwater world of Dutch Springs in January.

I will look forward to seeing the photos of this adventure of yours. Good luck! God speed! Make sure all of your affairs are in order! :05:

I meant to dig out the space for the tent!

Wow! I can't beleive the original WV drysuit snob isn't coming out to play this weekend. Good point about the cold water thing. They really didn't go into that too much. I know my regs should be fine, but I guess I have few more questions to ad to my list for the class.

No, I won't do that until at least a few minutes into the first after the Devils :cussing: are up by 3 goals on us!

Good thing for heated tents. The real question is how do I keep my camera from freezing!
