Dutch is open for instructors on Saturday and Sunday (17 and 18 Jan). Due to my work schedule, Sunday works for me.

I will indicate to DS that I may have 4-6 "students" with me on Sunday. If there is a certain dive any of you would like to do please indicate your preference. Of course everyone meeting me can dive as they choose.

I did the the Cove on New Years eve and it is a nice change and is deep (80 feet). If anyone is certain that they can find the dyamite shack, I am up for that too. If a long (45-50 minute) multiple level dive is what you need then I have a nice tour at DS just for this (a very nice dive for new dry suits users).

Sounds Fun! I am looking to get my new Suunto Stinger wet and this may be the first opportunity. I'll give you a holler just prior to the weekend. I'm taking my tanks in this week to get "Visualed" but that shouldn't pose any problem for the 18th.

Bill,

I can get you to the Dynamite Shack

I Am Excited For I Will Be There Too Doing The Nitrox/drysuit Gig.
It Will Be Cold As H*ll, But Who Cares As Long As We Get Wet..er A...dry.
Cya At The Spring, And At Scuba Connection On Sunday!
Hey Someone Bring Some Donuts!

Diving in January is no different than it was in November. The water on New Years Eve was 38 to 40 degrees but in a dry suit I was comfortable and having fun. The secret to cold weather diving is to stay warm before and after the dive. Especially, when exiting the water have a towel to dry your head and hands. Put on gloves and cover your head. If you are doing a second dive, be sure to put your hood and gloves in a warm place.

It is still too early to determine what the weather will be, but outside of rain and snow (and maybe extreme temperatures) the dive is ON.

Looks like I'm on for the 18th! See you guys there.

Will normal prices be in effect?

Well, it's in the single digits here in the greater-Dutch region of PA. Wonder if the quarry will become an "overhead environment" by the end of the weekend?!?

If I were "dry," I'd consider joining the fun next weekend. Alas, I am wet, and hopefully will be watching the Eagles play in an NFC championship game (fingers firmly crossed)...

In order to keep you warm, download the Dutch Springs waiver and fill it out ahead of time. I am not sure if the fee is still $22.00 but on New Year Eve it was still this amount (even for a "short" day).

Here is the link: http://www.dutchsprings.com/waiver/waiver_procedure.html

The down load is of poor quality but the people at Dutch do not seem to care. Your passes from last year and waivers signed are no longer valid. This waiver is for only one day. \

What about those Eagles??????

These are the Wreck Valley divers I am expecting on 18 Jan 2004.

Ingreevox will be with Scuba Connection doing a Nitrox and Dry suit. I am sure we will see him too.

Since the weather will be cold, having a picnic after the dive may not be the best idea. I vote to dine at the the Golden View Dinner after the dive. However, if anyone wants to guzzle beverages after the dive, then by all means bring it on!

Vadim chicken out and will be doing the warmer California waters.

The few.

The proud.

The frozen.

I hear it's supposed to head back into the frigid zone again later in the week.
