Ok, I am new to diving, and the other day while at me LDS looking at stuff to spend my money on to look like I know what I am doing next time I go diving......I bought a slate.

I thought it would be cool to be able to write little messages back and forth with me in my g/f while underwater.

Well, um...... I guess I was just in a hurry to get the satisfaction of knowing I bought some new dive stuff, that I never thought of how to erase the slate!!!!

So yea, now I feel stupid, will anyone PLEASE tell me how to erase the stuff that I wrote on my slate??

Depends what you used to write on it. If it was pencil just try an ordinary pencil rubber. If that doesn't work or if you used something else you can try detergent or, if all else fails, fine sandpaper.

Get one of those big pink erasers you used in grade school -- they work pretty well. If that doesn't do it, scrub lightly with Comet.

I've used a non-gel toothpaste.
(I'm not sure if gel would/wouldn't work-just haven't tried it.)

soft scrub. a little gentler than comet.
If you will be using a pencil to write on the slate, it's often a good idea to give it a scrub before the first use. The slightly roughed-up surface is easier to write on.

You guys mean you don't have to throw the slates away after each use . . . I thought they were one time use things . . . Ohh man. . .

LOL Anyway sorry bout that Yeah just use an eraser or some diluted simple green

I put some medical tape over mine, so when that finally wears out I can just peel it off and add more. Just a standard eraser will work fine though.
