I currently dive AL80's and use about 16-18 lbs in salt water with a full 3mil suit. I just acquired 2 hp steel 80's and 1 hp steel 100... how much weight can I drop when i use these?

That's about what I was using before I bought my steel '80's. I dropped 6 pounds when I switched from AL 80 to the steels. When I travel and have to rent AL's I up the weight back up to 16 and am good to go.

Most AL80s are about +4 when empty. Most common steel cylinders are between 0 and -2 empty. You should therefore probably be able to drop 4-6#. As suggested above, you can look of the specific buoyancy numbers for your individual cylinders and determine precisely how much weight you can let go.

Empty, the HP tanks are 2-3 pounds negative, as opposed to 4+ pounds positive for the aluminum tanks. Why not start with 5-6 pounds less, and go from there?

(The OP certainly can't complain about a delayed response to his question!)

about 4 or 5 lbs .....

Congratulations on your new cylinders. Here is the whole story.

Plan on 7-8 pounds depending on the rounding errors in your baseline and cylinders.

You are going to love those steel tanks!

I was able to drop 6lbs. going from AL80 to HP100.
