I have to wear my drysuit with 130s and I find myself overloaded with anything more than a slung 40. I figure that I need to get something a little smaller. Moving them around is no problem above ground. In the water they trim so nice due to the length. Just so big.
I dove Faber 85s and loved the size, but I could not get them to trim without 4# on my tail. I hate carrying lead. And it was still work not to go butt up. For serious deep dives, I just want lots of gas.
I hate to think I may need two sets. My wife is going to kill me.
I think you might be fixing a skills problem with gear. If you're feeling overloaded with an AL80 and HP130's, something's wrong. I find 1 AL80 and 1 AL40 still comfortable. 2 AL80's are a little tough, but still reasonable.
What undergarment are you using?
Just curious, who makes the wing? Halcyon and DSS I think are the only two companies that actually test their lift capacity in the water. My wing is a 57# lift, when I had the 130s, my 40 and two 80s slung, I could barely keep my head above water at the lake. My trim in the water was fine, but the surface was a bear.
I wish they made more high capacity tanks in 7.25" diameter that are not as long as the HP120.
