nope. :-) Ikea! It's part of our entertainment center, kinda combined with a curio, which is where the bowl sits.

StagRaven:
No real point to this post other than to share my excitement. My wife bought me a bowl from the Andrea Doria recovered by Gary Gentile for my birthday. It's great! I figured at least on the board, people would understand. All of my friends say, "You got a....bowl..."
Oh well :D To be a diver is to be misunderstood by non-divers, I guess.:11doh:

Have a great day.

Thats GREAT.

Andrea Doria artifacts are rare. There may be 100 folks in the world with them. To have one with a pedigree from Gary Gentile is truly a wonderful gift your wife got you.

You may want to find out from Gary (and he knows) what trip and what dive he found those on. I suspect they were from the early 90s. We were pulling up a lot of stuff then. Gary has one of the largest collection of Doria artifacts in the world. Possibly more than anyone.

To start to round our your collection of Doria memorabilia you should hop over to E-bay and seach Andrea Doria.. look for the Life Magazines, the Doria magazine advertisements, a copy of "Saved" etc. they make a nice display.

Cheers !
