it was kinda a joke..
but nice find (i mean the wife)
having a wife supporting of your hobbies is big..
mine is kinda supportive, or a better word is tolerant to my diving....
i think shes seen hitlers ost sub a few to many times :)

Excellent bowl and excellent wife! That's not a bad price in my opinion. Where did she locate how to pick it up???

gary has a web site last i knew selling that stuff...

Very cool. I agree, it's something only a diver would understand.

Gary has a lot of stuff he sells. He also has tons of stuff he keeps. If you Google the Andrea Doria you'll find tons of photos of things people have and want to sell. Some people have literal shrines built. Amazing.

Everytime there is a storm, the Andrea Doria lets more stuff loose. I'm probably 10 to 15 years from getting near it. Hope there is something left by then.

hey diver-types.... it is I, the great gift giver... while I am too chicken to dive, I find it very interesting and was pleased to find a gift my divin'-crazy husband would love.

Just wanted to let you all know that Gary was very nice to email, responded quickly, and sent the artifact quickly, too. It was carefully wrapped for shipping, which I really appreciated! So, in case anyone is considering purchasing an artifact from him, he was very nice to deal with.

Thanks for all your interest and kind comments about Stagraven's birthday!

(diesel298 - "DeepSea Detectives" dvds have started arriving at our house, so tell your wife she's not alone!) :-)

Hey your wife posted, kinda funny you went with divewife11 very appropriate ... sorta relagated to "understand" him without really relating to the insanity. We divers are dually impressed about the bowl.

I knew nothing about diving, so as he buys books and magazines, I read 'em too. If he gets that excited about it, I like to at least know what he's talking about. It's really interesting, I just don't think it's for me!!!

I understand the insanity a little bit - I'm one of those horse people. ;-) So he listens to my raving about horses, going out in below-freezing weather/rain/snow/blistering heat to ride, spending obscene amounts of money on a sport...

I know how it feels when you just HAFTA do something other people think is a little bit crazy. ;-)

I actually got the screenname because I was going to come on and ask if that was a good gift! I didn't know if it was taboo to buy/sell artifacts?! Did it only count if you got it yourself?!?! I hoped not. I finally decided to just buy it though. Guess I picked right, hahaha!
