I just picked up a NiTek Duo and it has been on (despite my not having touched any buttons) since about 3pm yesterday when I bought it. The Owner's Guide really doesn't give me an answer on this.

Thanks - brian

Nope! At a minimum it will display the time and date.

This is good news because, should you wish to dive at altitude, the computer will account for the change in altitude and the time driving to the site. You could arrive at Lake Tahoe with quite a bit of residual nitrogen and that would affect your dive planning.

Great, thanks. That's all I needed. This forum sure is amazing when you have a question.
