Seems like dive skills is at low level record.
Don’t be a Luddite. Technology moves forward, are you still taking dive tables down with you in your pocket or do you actually use a computer? Do you use a gas analyser? Things move on, doesn’t mean you need to move on with them if you don’t want to, but some people like seeing how technology will improve our enjoyment.

I don't agree :
during our classes our instructor mainly insisted on teaching us to return to our initial point and to get safely out of water in case Any of tech devices we use fails and/or if the visibility suddently decreases.
- if people start to rely on a "sort of underwater GPS" which may not be reliable or fail like some Air transmitters, there will be more accidents after unexperienced newcomers will switch from basic "cave lines and compasses".

nowadays it is recommended to bear 2 dive computers (one inexpensive for redundancy) ;
if these 2 computers have to be "Both compatible with underwater location transmitters", diving may become unaffordable.
